Tuesday 13th Sept 99	DAY 11 Sperryville
Today we went for a day-trip to Patty Lane's place at Sperryville. We met the world-famous Annie and Pita and of course, Catahoula Kate. Kate is a beautiful dog, with hypnotic pale eyes - we've never seen a Catahoula before and I found myself intrigued with her and her breed. I hope we get an opportunity to get to know her better in the future.
We drove with Patty, Wendy, Matthew, Lochie and Kate and Bliss along Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park. The scenery was breathtaking and the forest is so very different from our Australian bush at home.
Stopped for lunch at a very average restaurant up along Skyline Drive then went on to the Big Meadow and took the dogs for a walk. It was lovely and the dogs had a great time. Got back just in time to make it to dinner with John Stapleton, it was great to meet some of Mary's family at last - it was a great meal at a nearby Mexican restaurant and we really enjoyed John's company - we look forward to meeting him again.

Kate, Patty, Pete, Bliss, Wendy, Lochie and Matthew at the Big Meadow, Shenandoah National Park
